HSUS is charged with improving animal welfare in the United States as a country, not Atlanta as a city. It's journalism 101 that local media will report on anything likely to get some ratings. Just because it's on tv doesn't mean that it's news. If you've got some legitimate facts, then by all means publish them, but you can't fault HSUS for having to play by the same very expensive political rules that every other organization involved in politics has to play. Let me put it to you this way. If you had 10 employees who were not political professionals earning around $15,000 (a more reasonable salary for a charity employee?) living in Washington DC and charged with lobbying for animal welfare (HSUS is not an animal rights organization), I'd love to see what they accomplish. I'm afraid we will all be dead by the time they got anything done. What are you honestly expecting from an organization run by human beings? And what, really, do you expect this forum to accomplish? I'm getting nothing but negative energy. And frankly, it doesn't really seem like the moderators here have the education or the experience to try to educate the rest of us.
